Meet the Founder: Carlye Walters

With over 22 years of professional esthetics experience spanning dermatology, medical esthetics, clinical skincare, spa management, and advanced education, Carlye Walters has played a defining role in shaping the professional skincare landscape in the United States.

Her journey began at the Rayner Institute of Medical Esthetics, one of the original institutions advancing medical esthetics education. Long before “medical esthetics” was a recognized field, Carlye was working directly with physicians, developing treatment protocols, supporting patient care, and helping integrate estheticians into clinical practice.

She expanded her clinical experience at Brevard Skin and Cancer Center, where she assisted in cosmetic procedures, corrective skincare, and pre/post-operative care. This real-world clinical exposure formed the foundation of the dermaplaning and advanced technique systems she teaches today.

Carlye continued her leadership in the field by founding Complexions Center for Clinical Skin Care and later Complexions Advanced Esthetic Training, training estheticians nationwide and building advanced curricula that bridge the gap between basic beauty school training and true mastery.
